Why it matters.

Your children get a guardian you chose.

Without a will, a court decides who raises your children. With one, you do.

Probate is slow, costly, and public.

Clear documents spare your family months of court, fees, and exposure.

Family conflict is preventable.

Most estate disputes come from ambiguity. Plain instructions keep families whole.

Your values don't transfer automatically.

Money passes through paperwork. Meaning passes through a letter.

Questions, answered.

Is a legacy letter legally binding?

No — and that's the point. It carries no legal weight, which means you can write freely, from the heart. Legal instructions live in the documents on the checklist (your will, trust, and directives). The letter is your voice; those are your wishes.

Is anything I write saved or sent to you?

No. Everything you type stays in your own browser, on your own device. We never see it — unless you choose “email me a copy,” which sends it only to you (and lets us follow up if you’d like help).

Do I need a lawyer for the checklist?

Some items — a will, a trust, powers of attorney — are best prepared with an attorney. Many others you can handle yourself in an afternoon. Start by checking off what you already have; the gaps show you where to begin.

What does this cost?

Nothing. The checklist and the letter builder are free, with no account and no catch. They’re our way of being useful before we’re ever needed.

How does life insurance fit into all this?

It’s the money that makes the plan real. Every item on the checklist assumes there’s enough there for your family when the time comes — and that’s what a policy provides. It’s the one piece we can put in place for you.
